Madisa offers private campsites for travellers who value space and their own facilities, overland sites for groups and self-drive guests, and Safari Tents for those who prefer a proper bed and linen.

All accommodation is set within the natural landscape. Wildlife may move through the area, and guests should follow the camp team’s guidance at all times.

Private Campsites

Room to make camp.

Nine private campsites are positioned along the dry Goantagab Riverbed beneath large Mopane trees. Low stone walls define each site without closing it off from the surrounding landscape.

Each Private Campsite includes:

  • Private ablution facilities.
  • An elevated bathroom with shower and toilet.
  • A braai area and donkey geyser for hot water.
  • Lighting and a limited plug point.

Solar electricity is available from 15:00 to 22:00. Small devices may also be charged at Reception during the day. Firewood is available to purchase at Reception.

Overland Campsites

Easy camp life for groups.

Madisa’s five Overland Campsites are suited to groups, tour vehicles and self-drive travellers. They are located close to the bar and rock pool, making it easy for guests to use the main camp facilities.

Each Overland Campsite includes:

  • A braai area and wash basin.
  • Access to shared ablutions with showers and toilets.
  • Hot water from a traditional donkey boiler.
  • Solar electricity from 18:00 to 22:00 for small devices.

Safari Tents

Close to the rocks. Properly comfortable.

Madisa’s Safari Tents offer the comfort of proper beds and linen while keeping guests close to the Damaraland landscape. The tents are positioned among granite boulders and feature open-air bathrooms built into the natural rock formations.

Madisa offers five Double Safari Tents for two guests and three Family Safari Tents. Each tent includes:

  • Comfortable beds with linen.
  • An en-suite, open-air rock bathroom.
  • An outdoor shower and USB charging point.
  • A private braai area for self-catering guests.

Hot water is supplied by a gas geyser or traditional donkey system. Safari Tents are sold on a bed-only basis; breakfast and dinner can be pre-booked.

Dining at Madisa

Meals around the main camp.

Breakfast and dinner are served at the poolside dining area and bar. Meals are prepared in a relaxed camp style and must be booked before arrival so the team can cater for every guest.
