For travellers seeking space and solitude, Madisa offers nine private campsites set along the dry Goantagab Riverbed.
Each campsite features:
- Private ablution facilities
- Elevated bathrooms on stilts
- Traditional braai area – wood can be purchased at Reception.
- Donkey geyser for hot water
- Low stone walls for privacy
As night falls, the desert comes alive with distant animal calls and an endless canopy of stars — making Madisa one of the best stargazing locations in Namibia.
Solar electricity is available between 15:00 – 22:00, and small devices may be charged at reception during the day.
OVERLAND CAMPING IN DAMARALAND

Madisa’s five spacious overland campsites are ideal for groups and self-drive adventurers exploring Namibia.
Located close to the bar and swimming pool, each site includes:
- Braai area
- Wash basin
- Access to communal ablutions with showers and toilets
Hot water is provided via a traditional donkey boiler, lit by camp staff each evening and morning.
Wildlife frequently moves through the surrounding landscape, including the famous desert-adapted elephants, offering guests a truly wild camping experience.
Solar electricity is available from 18:00 – 22:00. Only for charging of small devices.
SAFARI GLAMPING TENTS IN DAMARALAND

For those wanting comfort without losing the magic of the wilderness, Madisa’s Safari Tents offer a memorable glamping experience.
Set amongst dramatic granite boulders, each tent includes:
- En-suite rock bathroom
- Outdoor shower
- Comfortable beds with linen provided
- For those who want to self-cater, please enquire when making your booking.
Madisa offers:
- Five Double Safari Tents for two guests
- Three Family Safari Tents accommodating four to six guests
Hot water is available via gas geysers or traditional donkey systems.
Safari tents all have solar lights and a USB charging station for small devices.
DINING AT MADISA CAMP
Food at Madisa reflects the warmth of Namibian hospitality. Guests can enjoy rustic, open-fire meals prepared with care and served at the poolside dining area and bar.
Meals should be pre-booked before arrival, to avoid dissapointment.

RESERVATION POLICY
Once we have received your provisional reservation request, we will send you a provisional confirmation of your reservation. All provisional reservations need to be confirmed 2 months / 60 days prior to arrival.
Once confirmed we will send a tax invoice. Full payment is due 30 days prior to arrival unless requested otherwise.
We require a proof of payment via email to confirm your reservation. Once we receive your proof of payment, an email will be sent to
you as confirmation of your reservation.
Group / Block booking Policy
Final rooming lists are due 60 days prior to arrival unless agreed otherwise. Provisional rooming lists are due 90days prior to arrival. A 20% non-Refundable deposit is due with time of booking for us to hold the block bookings.
